Traveler Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
1. About Remote Dominica
Remote Dominica (“the Platform”) is a tourism marketplace that helps travelers discover places, plan trips, and connect with verified local experts in the Commonwealth of Dominica, including guides, drivers, tour operators, and accommodation partners.
Remote Dominica is a platform and coordination tool. We are not a tour operator, transport provider, accommodation provider, or insurer, and we do not directly organize, run, or deliver tours, transport, accommodation, or other travel services unless expressly stated otherwise.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Platform, including by creating an account, browsing content, submitting a request, accepting a proposal, or making a booking, you agree to these Terms of Service.
If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.
3. Eligibility and User Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use the Platform independently.
When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep that information up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that violate these terms, provide false information, misuse the Platform, or engage in harmful, abusive, or unlawful behavior.
4. Use of the Platform by Travelers
The Platform allows travelers to browse spots, save favorites, use planning tools, submit requests, receive proposals, and in some cases confirm bookings directly.
Browsing spots, using the trip planner, saving favorites, and submitting requests are free to travelers unless clearly stated otherwise.
When you submit a request, one or more local experts may respond with proposals, pricing, and availability. You are under no obligation to accept a proposal. However, once you accept a proposal or confirm a booking, you enter into a direct arrangement with the relevant operator or service provider.
Some offers may allow direct booking with immediate confirmation. Once confirmed, those bookings may be subject to cancellation terms and other conditions displayed at the time of booking.
5. Payments
Some bookings may require an online payment or deposit to confirm the service. Any amount due at the time of booking will be clearly shown before payment.
Payments made through the Platform are processed by third-party payment providers, including Stripe. By making a payment, you also agree to the applicable terms of those providers.
Unless otherwise stated, any remaining balance not paid online is paid directly to the operator or service provider according to the terms communicated at booking.
6. Traveler Responsibilities
As a traveler, you agree to:
- provide accurate trip and contact information
- review the details of proposals and bookings carefully before confirming
- arrive on time and prepared for your confirmed services
- communicate any relevant changes directly and promptly
- follow reasonable safety instructions given by operators
- ensure that you are physically and practically prepared for the activities you choose
- arrange your own travel insurance where appropriate
You understand that some activities may involve physical effort, weather risks, road conditions, sea conditions, remote areas, or other circumstances outside the Platform's control.
7. Operators and Third-Party Services
Operators listed on Remote Dominica are independent third parties. They are not employees, agents, or representatives of Remote Dominica.
While we may review profiles and supporting documents, we do not guarantee the quality, legality, availability, safety, punctuality, or suitability of any operator or service. Any service you book is provided by the operator, who remains fully responsible for delivering that service.
8. Cancellations, Refunds, and Disputes
If you need to cancel a confirmed booking, you should contact the relevant operator as soon as possible. Cancellation and refund eligibility may depend on the specific booking terms, timing, and circumstances.
If an operator cancels a confirmed booking and an online payment or deposit was made through the Platform, the traveler will generally be entitled to a refund of the amount paid, unless otherwise stated. Refund processing times may vary, but where the Platform processes the refund directly, we aim to do so within 7 business days.
If a dispute arises regarding a booking, including a no-show, cancellation, or service issue, contact us at hello@remotedominica.com. We may review the situation and, where appropriate, help facilitate communication or resolution, but we are not obliged to resolve every dispute in your favor.
9. Intellectual Property
All Platform content, including but not limited to text, branding, layouts, spot descriptions, maps, ratings, photos, graphics, and planning tools, is owned by or licensed to Remote Dominica unless otherwise stated.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, republish, scrape, or commercially use Platform content without prior written permission.
10. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- provide false or misleading information
- use the Platform to harass, threaten, abuse, or harm others
- create multiple accounts for deceptive or manipulative purposes
- interfere with the Platform's operation or security
- scrape, extract, or copy Platform content without authorization
- use the Platform for unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purposes
We reserve the right to investigate misuse and take appropriate action, including suspension or termination of access.
11. Platform Availability
We do not guarantee that the Platform will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. Features may change, be suspended, or be removed at any time.
We may update, modify, or discontinue any part of the Platform without liability.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Remote Dominica is not liable for:
- the acts, omissions, quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of services provided by operators
- injuries, losses, damages, delays, or cancellations occurring during tours, transport, accommodation, or other services
- weather, sea, road, environmental, or natural conditions affecting activities
- loss or theft of personal belongings
- indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- loss of enjoyment, opportunity, profits, savings, data, or goodwill arising from use of the Platform
Your use of the Platform and participation in booked services is at your own risk.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Dominica. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of the Platform shall be subject to the courts of the Commonwealth of Dominica.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If significant changes are made, we may notify users by email or through a notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
