Our story
Remote does not claim to replace anything. Every operator who joins keeps their other marketplaces, their private channels, their local networks and the way they already work. We are an extra tool, not a solution, not a replacement. We want to help the industry grow, never to restrict it.
Remote was born from a simple idea, to make Dominica easier to read. This place, unlike anywhere else in the world, is full of spots and activities that struggle to be seen the way they deserve. Tourism has good momentum, and we want visitors to have a clear picture of everything they can explore. The well known spots are exceptional, but there is so much more to discover.
We are a group of young people who love to explore the island for real. Heading out for several days, chasing waterfalls, walking trails that the current tourism industry has sadly left behind. By shining light back on the lesser explored parts of the island, we want to add to its diversity, encourage locals, young and not so young, to dare to create experiences, and help them find their place in a world where everything has to go viral to exist.
Dominica is the Nature Island. It is a duty we all share, everyone in the industry, operators and travelers alike, to keep it that way. And for that to happen, everyone has to find their place in it.
The goal of Remote is to bring the demand together, so that everyone gets a chance to exist in the ecosystem. Whether it is a guide who has not mastered social media, a forgotten spot, or a young person starting out who simply needs to be shown that yes, they can create new things.
We spent several months building a system that is fair for everyone. We want to take part in the evolution of the island tourism, certainly not to take control of supply or demand. Everyone keeps their autonomy. We do not want to flip the codes, simply to support those who want it by offering them a new tool.
