Intro
Hodge Beach is a quiet black-sand beach on Dominica’s Northeast Coast, near Calibishie. Access is via a small path between two villas, followed by a steep forest descent. It’s peaceful and isolated, ideal if you want to disconnect from busier beaches.
What you’ll do
- Find the small access point between two villas and start the descent.
- Walk down worn steps and forest sections with roots and mud.
- Arrive on a quiet black-sand beach with a wild, untouched feel.
- Relax, take photos, and enjoy the calm.
- Head back up the same way (the climb out is the hardest part).
Key tips
- The steps can be worn and slippery, especially after rain. Take it slow.
- Wear shoes with grip. Water shoes can help on the rocky shoreline.
- Bring what you need (water, towel). There may be no services.
- Check sea conditions before swimming.
