Overview
Dubuc Falls is a small, still under-the-radar double waterfall in the Dubuc / Grand Bay area. It’s not a “trail hike” — it’s a river hike, meaning you’ll spend a lot of time walking directly in the riverbed.
Route vibe
- Start by parking as far in as possible.
- Cross the old collapsed bridge.
- Walk up through the village until you reach the riverbed.
- From there, follow the river upstream for roughly 1 hour.
Expect wet feet, slippery rocks, and slower progress than a normal hike.
April 2025 update (important)
We did a drone scouting session and realized the “wall” some people point to isn’t the main Dubuc Falls — it’s an intermediate cascade. We’re currently looking for a safer way to climb past this section and will update this page once we confirm the best route. You can still enjoy the river hike and intermediate cascade, but do not attempt risky climbing.
There are signs of older climbing anchor points in the area (likely damaged or removed after Hurricane Maria).
Local tips
- Go early, and only on a stable-weather day.
- If the river feels high, don’t force it — turn back.
- Bring a dry bag for your phone + keys.
- Leave no trace (pack out everything).
