Near Calibishie, Chaudière Pool is a hidden natural pool formed by small waterfalls. It’s a great option if you want a refreshing swim away from busy spots. Access requires a 4x4 plus a muddy walk, so it feels more adventurous than most “easy” pools.

  • Drive in with a 4x4 and continue to the second sign that mentions “15 min walk / 7 min drive”.
  • Decide to park there if you’re unsure about turning around further down.
  • Walk 20–30 minutes on a sometimes muddy path to reach the river.
  • Don’t stop at the first river section: continue upstream to find the larger pool and waterfall.
  • Swim if conditions look safe, then head back the same way.
