Why Dominica

Dominica is the wildest and greenest island in the Caribbean — 365 rivers, nine active volcanoes and a rainforest that covers two-thirds of the country.

When to go

The dry season runs December–April. June–November is greener but wetter and includes hurricane season.

Getting around

There is no Uber. Rent a car (4x4 recommended) or hire a local driver-guide.

What to pack

  • Reef-safe sunscreen
  • Hiking shoes with grip
  • Quick-dry clothes
  • A small dry bag for waterfalls

Don't miss

  • Boiling Lake hike (full day)
  • Trafalgar Falls and the warm sulphur pools
  • A whale-watching trip from Roseau
  • Kalinago Territory for indigenous culture
