Dominica is good value compared with neighbouring islands, especially if you eat where locals eat and stay outside the capital.
Backpacker — US$60–90 / day
- Guesthouse dorm or simple room: 25–40
- Local creole plate (chicken, rice, plantain): 8–12
- Public bus + occasional shared taxi: 5–10
- Free hikes and beaches: 0
- Site pass (national parks): 5/site or 12 weekly
Mid-range — US$130–220 / day
- Boutique eco-lodge: 80–140
- Restaurant dinner with a rum punch: 20–35
- Half-day guided tour: 60–90
- Snorkel rental or massage: 25–40
High-end — US$300+ / day
