Route overview (clear steps)
- The hike begins with a steep 5-minute descent.
- A first river crossing leads to a short trail (~ 5 minutes).
- This small trail helps bypass the largest river boulders.
- From there, continue up the river for roughly 20 minutes to reach the falls.
Total time to the falls is commonly around 40–60 minutes, depending on water level and pace.
February 2026 update (navigation)
A newer trail and painted arrows were added in February 2026 to guide the route. Once in the riverbed, the correct direction is generally hard to miss.
Navigation tip (return)
If the small bypass trail is missed on the way back, continuing directly in the riverbed is usually easier in this direction.

Follow Google Maps toward Sari Sari Falls / La Plaine, then park in the small roadside spaces near 15.3272644, -61.2563696 (free). The initial descent uses the same access path; once in the river area, painted arrows and the newer trail (Feb 2026) help confirm the route.
River crossings and slippery rocks are expected. Avoid visiting after heavy rain or if the river is high—conditions can change quickly and crossings may become unsafe.
