Intro
Jack Falls is a dramatic waterfall you can spot in the distance from the village of Délices, not far from Victoria Falls. It sits alongside the Perdu Temps Trail route, which has been largely abandoned since Hurricane Maria (2017). This is for adventurous hikers looking for wilder, less maintained places.
What you’ll do
- View the waterfall from afar from the Délices area.
- If attempting the trail, follow the old Perdu Temps Trail route (conditions vary).
- Navigate muddy and overgrown sections and assess conditions as you go.
- Take photos (this is more of a viewing/adventure spot than a classic “swim stop”).
- Turn back if the route becomes unclear or unsafe.
Key tips
- This is an extremely remote area. If something goes wrong, help may not be able to reach you quickly.
- Do not attempt if it has rained in the past 48 hours.
- The trail is not maintained. Conditions can change fast.
- Long pants help with scratchy vegetation.
- If you want to attempt the route, contact the people who recently walked it and provided the photo: @joludy.dominique.
